The Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies represents the research initiative of Professor Constantin Bușe, PhD.

By Decision No. 781 of 12 June 1996, the Rector of the University of Bucharest, Professor Ioan Mihăilescu, appointed by Order of the Minister of Education No. 3553 of 5 April 1996, and acting in accordance with the decision of the Executive Bureau of the Senate of the University of Bucharest of 30 May 1996, pursuant to Article 146 of Law No. 84/1995, decided to establish the CENTRE FOR EURO-ATLANTIC STUDIES within the University of Bucharest, effective 1 June 1996.

Mission and Academic Profile

The Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies is a research and academic institution within the University of Bucharest dedicated to the study of European and Euro-Atlantic affairs.

Its activities bring together historical, political, diplomatic, and international relations perspectives in order to examine major developments in European integration, transatlantic relations, international security, and contemporary European affairs.

The Centre promotes academic research, interdisciplinary dialogue, scholarly cooperation, and the dissemination of research findings through publications, conferences, seminars, research projects, and other academic activities.

It pays particular attention to the historical dimension of European and Euro-Atlantic relations, as well as the political and institutional transformations that have shaped the European and international systems since the twentieth century.
