Manuscript Preparation
The official language of the journal is English.
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word (.docx) format. PDF files are not accepted for initial submission.
Research articles should normally contain 6,000–8,000 words (approximately 20 manuscript pages, including references, tables, figures, and appendices).
Each manuscript must include:
- Title of the manuscript;
- Abstract of 150–250 words;

The journal follows the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition, Notes and Bibliography system) for citations and references. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all references are complete, accurate, and consistently formatted.
Manuscripts should be written in clear, accurate, and grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts linguistically reviewed before submission.
Submission Requirements
By submitting a manuscript to Euro-Atlantic Studies New Series, authors confirm that:
- the manuscript represents original scholarly work;
- it has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal or publisher;
- all listed authors have made a substantial academic contribution to the manuscript and have approved the submitted version;
- all sources, including published and unpublished materials, have been properly acknowledged and cited;
- all quotations, data, illustrations, and other third-party materials have been appropriately referenced and, where required, permission for their use has been obtained;
- any actual or potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, and any other form of research misconduct. Manuscripts found to violate these principles may be rejected at any stage of the editorial process.
Editorial Assessment
Each submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment conducted by the Editorial Office to determine whether the manuscript:
- falls within the journal’s aims and scope;
- complies with the submission requirements;
- meets the journal’s standards of academic quality;
- satisfies the ethical requirements of scholarly publishing.
Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected without external peer review.
The Editorial Office normally completes the preliminary assessment within approximately 30 days of submission.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial assessment are submitted to a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two independent reviewers with recognized expertise in the relevant field.
The identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of originality, scholarly quality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal’s scope, and contribution to the field.
If a reviewer identifies the author of a manuscript and believes that this may create a conflict of interest, the reviewer must immediately notify the Editor and decline the review invitation.
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief may decide to:
- Accept the manuscript;
- Accept subject to minor revisions;
- Invite major revisions and resubmission;
- Reject the manuscript.
If the reviewers’ recommendations differ substantially, the Editor-in-Chief may appoint an additional independent reviewer before reaching a final decision.
The final editorial decision rests exclusively with the Editor-in-Chief.
The peer-review process is typically completed within 30 days, though this period may vary depending on reviewer availability and the extent of required revisions.
Revisions and Withdrawal
Authors invited to revise their manuscripts should submit a revised version together with a detailed response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed.
Once a manuscript has entered the copy-editing and production stages, substantial modifications may only be made with the approval of the Editorial Office.
Authors may withdraw their manuscripts before copy-editing and production begin. Manuscripts accepted for publication should not be published elsewhere or made publicly available before their official publication by the journal.
Publication Schedule
Euro-Atlantic Studies New Series is published annually.
The annual deadline for manuscript submission is 30 June. Following the completion of the editorial assessment, the double-blind peer-review process, authors’ revisions, copy-editing, proofreading, typesetting, and final production, the annual issue is normally published within approximately three months after the submission deadline, in the autumn of the same year.
Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts well before the submission deadline to facilitate the editorial and peer-review process.
While the Editorial Office makes every effort to publish the annual issue according to the established schedule, the review and publication process may occasionally require additional time due to reviewer availability, the complexity of the evaluation, the extent of requested revisions, or other exceptional editorial circumstances. Authors will be informed promptly of any significant delays.
